What we can offer you

The domaine is situated in rolling countryside near the villages of Verteillac and St Martial-Viveyrol and is set within 5 acres of gardens. It is approached by descending a lane of just over half a kilometre and there are fields both to the left and right of the driveway that slopes slowly down to an attractive group of three houses secluded by woodlands. There is a labelled arboretum of fine specimen trees that forms the beginning of the gardens beyond which are the badminton, boules courts and a wildlife pond. There is a large double garage with additional parking for several cars, which is partially hidden from the property by trees.

All three properties have been tastefully restored to a very high standard using the best quality materials from the local area with antique/period furniture maintaining a traditional French country style. They have their own individual terraces, gardens and barbeques but may share (on occasion) the use of the swimming pool.

C18th Cottage: Sleeps 6/7 (3 double bedrooms plus a studio room)

The cottage (known as La Petite Maison) was the original farmhouse and has a total area of some 1,500sq ft. The internal finish is of a high standard, having thick walls, tiled and oak floors.

The sitting room measures some 20ft by 20ft with a large open fireplace containing a wood burning stove. Doors lead to the east facing terrace, main entrance and upper floor.

The principle bedroom is on the lower floor and adjacent to it is a fully tiled shower room with lavatory, bidet and wash hand basin.

The kitchen leads to the west facing terrace and garden and has fitted cupboards - a double sink unit, washing machine, refrigerator, freezer, gas cooker and microwave. There is a wood burning fire in one corner and a small eating area.

Upstairs there are two additional bedrooms and a shared bathroom. The larger of the two rooms has an east facing balcony overlooking woods and fields together with an exterior staircase leading to the garden and swimming pool.

There is a landing at the top of the stairs which has additional seating but could be used as a single bedroom. A high chair and cot can be made available.

The Pigeonnier Sleeps 2 +

The pigeonnier is a three storied tower house with a small south facing balcony and separate west facing eating area.

The sitting room measures 12ft by 10ft and has windows facing south, west and north. There is a kitchen on the first floor which is fully equipped with ample eating space. There is a main bedroom and an ensuite bathroom. The studio bedroom at the top of the tower has three small windows and a sloping ceiling with a convertible settee.

C18th Barn House: Sleeps 6 (3 double bedrooms)

PLEASE NOTE that the Barn House is only available during High Season, when the Domaine is let as one single entity. Details available on request.

The original stone barn of some 2,500 sq ft has walls over half a metre thick providing a wonderfully cool temperature in the hot summer.
